Solanke Unavailable; Maddison Update Delivered
Dominic Solanke will miss the upcoming match against Chelsea, according to head coach Roberto De Zerbi. Solanke, who sustained a hamstring injury during a recent victory over Wolves, has not been considered fit to play.
Dominic Solanke’s Injury Update
Roberto De Zerbi announced in a pre-match press conference that Solanke is still experiencing discomfort during his recovery. The coach stated, “Solanke is not ready yet; he is not available. He feels something, and I don’t want to take a risk for this game.”
Initially, there was hope that Solanke might return for the match; however, De Zerbi emphasized the importance of cautious recovery. He suggested that there is a possibility Solanke could participate in part of the following game on Sunday.
James Maddison’s Availability
In addition to Solanke’s situation, De Zerbi also provided an update on midfielder James Maddison. Maddison missed a few days of training after his recent return in a match against Leeds. The coach plans to discuss Maddison’s role for the upcoming Chelsea game.
