Sheffield United Retains Nigerian Forwards for Upcoming Season

Sheffield United has confirmed the retention of Nigerian forwards Christian Nwachukwu and Ehije Ukaki for the upcoming season. This decision comes after the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season.

Player Profiles

Christian Nwachukwu

Christian Nwachukwu, age 20, joined Sheffield United from the Bulgarian team Botev Plovdiv in February 2025. During the last half of the season, he was loaned to Turkish club Serikspor, where he participated in eleven league matches. Nwachukwu scored one goal and assisted two during his loan spell.

Despite not having made a senior debut for Sheffield United, he was included in a matchday squad for a game against Derby County in November 2025. His contract with the Blades extends until June 2027.

Ehije Ukaki

Ehije Ukaki, a 21-year-old forward, also gathered experience on loan with Atromitos in the Greek Super League after securing a transfer in January. Prior to his loan, Ukaki was called up to the Sheffield United senior team four times. His only official match appearance for the club was against Birmingham City in August 2025. Ukaki’s contract runs until June 2028.

Femi Seriki Retained

In addition to Nwachukwu and Ukaki, Sheffield United has also chosen to keep fullback Femi Seriki for the upcoming season. The talented defender had a productive 2025-2026 campaign, amassing one goal and six assists across 38 Championship matches.

Conclusion

Sheffield United is preparing for the next season with a focus on their young talents. The retention of Nwachukwu and Ukaki highlights the club’s commitment to developing its prospects, while Seriki’s contributions on the field add further depth to the squad.
