Victoria Day Parade: Essential Details You Should Know

The Victoria Day Parade, a tradition showcasing community spirit, celebrates its 126th year. Scheduled for Monday, May 18, this festive event will begin at 9 a.m. and traverse the heart of downtown.

Parade Details

The parade launches from the B.C. Legislature and proceeds through several key streets, including:

  • Government Street
  • Wharf Street
  • Lower Johnson Street

It culminates near Centennial Square, providing a festive atmosphere for attendees.

Road Closures

To accommodate the festivities, various road closures will be in effect:

  • Closure Times: 8 a.m. to noon
  • Specific Streets:
    • Government Street (Humboldt to Superior) – Closing at 6:30 a.m.
    • Government Street (Johnson to Bay)
    • Wharf Street
    • Lower Johnson Street

Roads will reopen when it is safe after the parade’s conclusion.

Access to Inner Harbour and James Bay

Public transit will continue operating through Superior Street. However, the BC Transit exchange at the Legislature will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to noon.
