Sai Sudharsan Retires Hurt After Elbow Injury in KKR vs GT IPL Match
The Gujarat Titans faced a considerable challenge during their IPL match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. Opener Sai Sudharsan retired hurt after sustaining an elbow injury, impacting his team’s performance.
Sai Sudharsan Suffers Elbow Injury
The incident occurred on the last ball of the third over, bowled by Kartik Tyagi. Sudharsan attempted a pull shot against a short delivery. Unfortunately, he misjudged the timing, causing the ball to strike his left elbow. After managing to complete a single, he fell to the ground in visible pain.
Medical staff quickly attended to Sudharsan. An ice pack was applied to his elbow as he walked off the field. Jos Buttler was prepared to bat next, but it was Nishant Sindhu who stepped in for Sudharsan.
Kolkata Knight Riders Set High Target
Kolkata Knight Riders put forth an impressive performance, scoring 247 for two, their highest total of the season. Finn Allen was a standout player, scoring 93 runs off just 35 balls. He dominated the Gujarat bowling attack, hitting 10 sixes and four boundaries. His aggressive play was pivotal, as 86 of his 93 runs came from boundaries.

The Gujarat Titans struggled in the field, committing four dropped catches throughout the match. Notably, Washington Sundar dropped Raghuvanshi when he had just 52 runs, and Arshad Khan missed a catch, allowing Cameron Green to continue his innings on 23.
As the match progressed, the Titans faced difficulty not only in chasing the target but also due to the challenges posed by key injuries. The injury to Sudharsan was a significant blow to their batting lineup.
