The weather office has identified a “vigorous trough” that will usher in wind gusts reaching up to 80 km/h. This weather alert encompasses two major routes:
- Coquihalla Highway: between Hope, Merritt, and Kamloops
- Okanagan Connector: between Merritt and Kelowna

Winds originating from the southwest are anticipated to begin Wednesday afternoon. These powerful gusts will particularly challenge tall vehicles and trucks. Fortunately, the wind speeds are expected to diminish to more moderate levels by midnight.
