Macclesfield’s New Independent Coffee Spot Strengthens Community Connections

Pronto Caffé, a new independent coffee spot in Macclesfield, is dedicated to building connections within the community. Located at Lusso Food Court, the café opened in March of this year and is run by Marilena Oakes and her mother. Marilena, a former barista, has combined her love for coffee with a desire to create a welcoming space for locals.
Community Engagement at Pronto Caffé
Since opening, Pronto Caffé has sought the community’s support. Marilena expressed, “So far, it’s been picking up slowly, but we need more support from the community.” Her goal is to foster relationships with customers and to learn their stories. “We absolutely cherish everyone that stops by,” she added.
A Wide Selection for Everyone
The café offers a varied menu that accommodates different tastes. Customers can enjoy:
- Coffees
- Teas
- Matchas
- Hot chocolates
- Protein shakes
- Paninis
- Pastries
- Cakes
- Porridge
- Sweet snacks
Family-Friendly Environment
On May 12, Pronto Caffé expanded its offerings by opening an indoor seating area that includes a children’s play area. Marilena emphasized the importance of this feature, stating, “As a mum of two little ones, I know how every minute of a break counts a lot.” The play area allows parents to enjoy their coffee while their children are entertained.
Marilena’s journey began in Romania, where she developed her passion for coffee. Moving to England as a teenager, she has since dedicated herself to turning this passion into a community asset. “I am super excited for this adventure,” she remarked. Pronto Caffé not only serves coffee but also aims to create a sense of belonging in Macclesfield.
