Quarterfinal Results
Middletown South vs. Pinelands
In a thrilling finish, Middletown South edged out Pinelands with a score of 7-6. Senior Kaleigh Kapler secured an 8-yard touchdown with just one minute remaining in the game. Adding to the excitement, senior quarterback Cam Czwakiel connected with senior wide receiver Ava Loucopoulos for a crucial 1-point conversion. This victory improved Middletown South’s record to 9-1, while Pinelands ended their season at 8-3.
Barnegat vs. Red Bank Catholic
Barnegat dominated Red Bank Catholic, defeating them 33-0 in a decisive quarterfinal matchup. This victory advanced Barnegat’s record to an impressive 10-0, solidifying their status as top seeds in the tournament.
Central vs. Holmdel
Central staged a spectacular comeback against Holmdel, winning 13-6. The Golden Eagles scored all their points in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Keely Gifford threw for 105 yards, including two touchdown passes. Gifford’s first pass was a 10-yarder to Olivia Delmonico, followed by a successful extra-point pass to Kaitlyn Massa for a 7-6 lead. Gifford then completed a 45-yard touchdown pass to Olivia Bowman. In response, Holmdel’s Julia Kern managed a touchdown with a 6-yard pass to Shayla Shah, but it was not enough to secure the win.
