India Secures Top Spot Over England in T20I Team Rankings

India has secured the top position in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, as announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The annual update, released on Tuesday, indicates that India holds a total of 275 rating points, placing them 13 points ahead of England, who ranks second.

Ranking Updates

This latest ranking includes an annual update assessing all matches played since May 2025 at full weight and those from the preceding two years at half weight. Over the past year, the Indian men’s cricket team achieved significant successes, including victories in both the T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup. They also triumphed in series against formidable teams like Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.

Top Teams in T20I Rankings

  • 1. India: 275 points
  • 2. England: 262 points
  • 3. Australia: 258 points
  • 4. New Zealand: 247 points
  • 5. South Africa: 244 points
  • 6. Pakistan: 240 points
  • 7. West Indies: 233 points

The top seven teams maintain their rankings, with New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and the West Indies retaining their places in the top 10. However, Sri Lanka has experienced a decline, losing six rating points and falling to ninth place. They now hold just one point over Afghanistan as they continue to navigate the rankings.

Women’s T20I Rankings

In the Women’s T20I Rankings, Australia remains in the top spot with 287 points, followed closely by England at 275 points and India in third place with 264 points. The rankings from fourth to sixth are as follows:

  • 4. New Zealand: 253 points
  • 5. South Africa: 243 points
  • 6. West Indies: 238 points

Sri Lanka, ranked seventh, is just one point ahead of Bangladesh, while Bangladesh is only one point behind ninth-placed Ireland after gaining five points in the recent updates.
