Canada Conducts Two-Day Test of Alert Ready Emergency System

Over the next two days, Canadians will experience a nationwide test of the Alert Ready emergency alert system. This initiative aims to ensure readiness in case of real emergencies. Test messages will be disseminated via television, radio, and compatible mobile devices.
Testing Schedule for Alert Ready Emergency System
During this test, all residents are reminded that there is no option to opt out of these notifications. The following regions will receive alerts on Wednesday:
- New Brunswick: 10:55 a.m. local time
- Newfoundland and Labrador: 9:55 a.m. local time
- The Northwest Territories: 9:55 a.m. local time
- P.E.I.: 12:55 p.m. local time
- Alberta: 1:55 p.m. local time
- British Columbia: 1:55 p.m. local time
- Nova Scotia: 1:55 p.m. local time
- Nunavut: 1:55 p.m. local time
- Yukon: 1:55 p.m. local time
On Thursday, Ontario will also be tested at 1:55 p.m. ET. Quebec’s testing has yet to be scheduled, while the tests for Saskatchewan have been cancelled.
