Marie-Eve Janvier, the acclaimed singer and presenter, recently opened up about her professional hiatus, which has lasted for seven months. In an interview on Rythme FM with her co-host Maripier Morin, she discussed her journey and current state.
Marie-Eve Janvier on Professional Hiatus
During the interview, Janvier described her experience as a transformative period, referring to it as a “version 2.0” of herself. She admitted that the question, “How are you?” was particularly challenging, revealing that her honest answer was mixed feelings of “being okay and not okay.” Her focus currently is not on a return to the spotlight but on healing.
The Necessity of Taking a Break
Janvier emphasized that her break was essential for her well-being. She felt a profound lack of desire and experienced symptoms such as heart palpitations and headaches. Notably, on October 14, the day she last worked at Rythme FM, she realized she was struggling. She described it as not merely a choice, but a matter of survival.
On October 17, Janvier announced her departure from radio and social media to enhance her wellness. She stated, “It took two months to accept that I am unwell.” She had initially sought to numb her feelings but ultimately chose to embrace her situation.
Finding Solace in Silence
Janvier mentioned she found comfort in silence and took up painting as a therapeutic outlet. She remarked, “I feed off the void; the silence, and I feel good.” The support of her three children has also played a crucial role, helping her focus on what truly matters each day.
Future Activities
While Janvier is not explicitly planning a return to her previous roles, she remains open to helping others by sharing her story. Recently, she was replaced in the Sintra symphonique show by Mia Tinayre, the winner of Star Académie 2025, alongside Marc Hervieux.
