Verify My Registration Status

In light of the ongoing labor dispute at Canada Post, the city will handle the distribution of reminder cards to individual-access addresses. Some addresses may not receive this card. If you don’t get a reminder card, you can still vote. However, it’s crucial to verify your registration status before October 16. This ensures that your information is accurate and confirms your registration on the electoral list.

Verify My Registration Status

Only those listed on the final, updated electoral list will have the right to vote. This step is essential for:

  • Ensuring your information is correct (name, address, date of birth).
  • Avoiding complications on voting day.
  • Guaranteeing valid eligibility to vote.

How to Verify Your Registration

You can verify your registration in two ways:

Online

To check your status online, you will need your personal information:

  • Postal code
  • civic number
  • Date of birth

In Person

You can also verify your registration at the Revision Commission on October 15 and 16, between 1 PM and 8 PM. The locations are:

  • Centre communautaire Des Ormeaux: 300 rue Chapleau
  • Pavillon Maurice-Pitre: 6455 rue Notre-Dame Ouest

What to Do If You’re Not Listed

If you find that you are not on the electoral list or if there are errors, you can request the following:

  • Registration Request: Add your name to the electoral list.
  • Removal Request: Remove a name from the electoral list.
  • Correction Request: Modify any inaccuracies on the electoral list.

Submitting a Revision Request

Requests must be submitted by:

  • The individual themselves
  • Their legal or common-law spouse
  • A relative or cohabitant

Individuals may also submit a removal request for someone else registered in the same voting section, provided they have personal knowledge of the pertinent facts.

For those looking to register in Trois-Rivières, the Commission requires:

  • The individual’s previous address
  • Two documents, one stating the name and date of birth and another showing the name and address

Examples of acceptable documents include health insurance cards, passports, utility bills, or lease agreements.
