“TT Prioritizes Local Journalism – MNews Highlights”

As the D-A-CH region observes the inaugural “Day of Local Journalism,” the Tiroler Tageszeitung is taking significant steps to underline the importance of regional and local reporting. This initiative aims to foster a deeper appreciation for quality journalism at every level.
Significance of Local Journalism
Silvia Lieb, Chairwoman of Moser Holding, emphasized, “Quality journalism, particularly at the local level, is essential for a functioning, pluralistic society.” The Tiroler Tageszeitung (TT) seeks to make a strong statement regarding this issue.
Matthias Krapf, Managing Director of TT, added that for them, every day is a “Day of Local Journalism.” Their dedication to the topics affecting Tyrol drives the entire team. However, this initiative also serves as a platform to develop new ideas and engage younger audiences.
Activities and Involvement
To celebrate this special day, the editorial team has initiated various activities aimed at community engagement. Here are some highlights:
- Nominations for Local Heroes: Readers are invited to nominate “everyday heroes” from Tyrol. Selected stories will be featured in both print and online editions.
- Pub Quiz Event: A quiz event will take place at Kulturlabor Stromboli in Hall in Tyrol, featuring questions focused on local topics.
- Collaboration with Schools: Partnering with a local school class in Innsbruck, the TT is developing portraits of young female athletes to showcase their achievements.
Editorial Insights
In addition to these initiatives, the TT will release short video segments on social media, providing insights into their journalistic processes. This effort will highlight how their content is created and the commitment behind it.
