Abbatiello Group Acquires Shaker Chain

Abbatiello Group has officially acquired Shaker, a well-known restaurant chain in Quebec. This significant move comes as shareholders of Shaker, including Groupe Blanchette, looked for strategies to ensure the brand’s growth.

Shaker’s Growth and Expansion Plans

Founded in April 2015 in Sainte-Foy, the first Shaker restaurant specialized in tartares and cocktails. It generated an impressive $5.6 million in sales within its first year. Since then, the chain has expanded rapidly, boasting 21 locations across Quebec.

  • New locations are set to open in Shawinigan and Vaudreuil-Dorion within weeks.
  • A third restaurant is planned to launch in Shannon this summer.

Future Vision and Goals

The Abbatiello family, spearheaded by Élisabeth Abbatiello, expressed pride in maintaining Quebec ownership of Shaker. They believe that with the proper support, the brand can thrive even further. “A total of about 40 Shaker restaurants could successfully operate in Quebec without compromising the brand’s integrity,” stated Abbatiello.

The company’s long-term vision is ambitious. The Abbatiello siblings aim for $1 billion in revenue by December 31, 2029. This goal translates to approximately 1,500 establishments across their various brands.

Continued Commitment to Expansion

Abbatiello Group’s acquisition of Shaker aligns with its ongoing growth strategy, which already includes popular chains like Pizza Salvatoré, Jack le Coq, and Crèmerie Chez Mamie. This diverse portfolio positions the group favorably for future endeavors.

In conclusion, the Abbatiello Group’s acquisition of Shaker marks a pivotal moment for the brand. As they focus on expansion and maintaining strong ties to their Quebec roots, Shaker is poised for exciting developments in the coming years.
