Born in 1982 in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, Aadhav Arjuna hails from a farming family. Tragically, he lost his mother at a young age, and his upbringing fell to his uncle and grandmother. His academic journey began at YWCA in Trichy and progressed to the Ramakrishna Mission School.
Education and Early Career
Arjuna discovered his passion for basketball during his 10th grade. Following high school, he moved to Chennai for higher education, enrolling at Madras Christian College to study political science. During this time, he lived in the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) hostel. His dedication to basketball led him to train extensively at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
He competed at a national level in basketball until 2016. In addition to his sports career, Arjuna has a background in the corporate sector, previously serving as the Founder and Managing Director of Arise Capital.
Political Involvement
Transitioning into politics in 2017, Arjuna has held significant roles in sports administration. He has served as the president of both the Basketball Federation of India and the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association. Currently, he is also the general secretary of the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association.
