Upcoming Events in the Pastoral Community
Cineforum on May 5
The first event is a cineforum scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, at 15:30. It will take place at the San Giuseppe Oratory. The film “Un mondo a parte” will be screened, followed by a discussion. Theatrical Presentation on May 6
The following day, Wednesday, May 6, the theatre company ‘Oltre il Sipario’ will perform the musical ‘Creation College’. This event will occur at the Teatro dei Vigilanti “Renato Cioni” in Portoferraio, starting at 20:30. Admission is by donation, with proceeds benefitting Caritas Elbana. Rosary Celebrations Throughout May
During May, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Pastoral Community is organizing four community rosary recitations. These will take place at 21:00 in various locations around Portoferraio. The first gathering is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, the eve of the Feast of the Madonna di Pompei. Participants will start at the Church of Misericordia and continue to the Duomo, with a stop at the Church of the Santissimo Sacramento. Community members are encouraged to join these spiritual gatherings.
Special Marian Celebration on May 8
Friday, May 8, marks the Feast of the Madonna di Pompei, during which the Elba Vicariate will celebrate a special event. At 21:00, the third Marian showcase featuring Elban choirs will be held at Santa Chiara Church in Marciana Marina. Various parish choirs and other musical groups will participate, and community support is highly welcomed.
Final Christian Formation Meeting on May 10
Lastly, on Sunday, May 10, the Azione Cattolica Elbana will host the final Christian formation meeting of the pastoral year. This open session will commence at 15:30 at the Church of the Santissimo Sacramento. The theme for this meeting is “The Beauty of Intergenerational Experience,” which will be guided by Sister Annalisa Colli, the General Mother of the Minime Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
