Brands Hatch, GT World Challenge Renew AWS-Powered Deal Until 2028

The GT World Challenge, powered by AWS, has secured its presence at Brands Hatch through at least 2028. This continued partnership between MotorSport Vision (MSV) and SRO Motorsports Group underscores the significance of the Kent circuit in the motorsport calendar.
Brands Hatch: A Centerpiece of GT Racing
Brands Hatch has hosted the Sprint Cup since 2014, with the exception of the disrupted 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The upcoming 2026 Sprint Cup schedule will kick off at Brands Hatch on May 2-3, marking the 12th occasion the event has occurred at this iconic track.
A Rich History
The affiliation between Brands Hatch and SRO Motorsports Group began 30 years ago in 1996 when the BPR Global Series made its debut at the circuit. The first SRO event was particularly memorable as it celebrated the Porsche 911 GT’s first victory, claimed by drivers Hans-Joachim Stuck and Thierry Boutsen in a four-hour race.
Statements from Key Officials
- David Willey, MSV Group Motorsport Events Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing relationship, highlighting that GT World Challenge is a staple event marking the return of competitive racing after winter.
- Stéphane Ratel, SRO Founder and CEO, praised Brands Hatch as a key part of the Sprint Cup calendar, noting its popularity among both drivers and fans.
Both Willey and Ratel acknowledged the essential role of MotorSport Vision and the dedicated teams who help maintain Brands Hatch as a premier racing venue.
Looking Ahead
The GT World Challenge powered by AWS at Brands Hatch promises exciting racing in the coming years. With its rich history and fan-friendly atmosphere, it continues to be a crucial part of the international sports car scene.
