Southern Utah is home to several animal shelters offering a variety of adoptable pets. The PAWS Adoption Center in St. George is one of the key locations, operating from Wednesday to Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM. This center provides a safe haven for pets looking for their forever homes.

  • Teri: A 48-pound, strong and house-trained dog, Teri loves hikes and is affectionate with humans and other dogs. She is approximately one month post-rescue from a California shelter.
  • Dash: This 4-year-old Shepherd mix weighs 30 pounds. Dash is house-trained, knows basic commands, and enjoys walks and playtime.
  • Nala: A 5-year-old Heeler mix who is good with kids, Nala is a medium-sized dog. She loves hiking and cuddling.
  • Vinnie: A charming 1-year-old cat with expressive green eyes, Vinnie enjoys affection and playtime and is well-socialized with other cats.
  • Tee’do: A sweet 2-year-old Tuxedo cat, Tee’do has been at the shelter for over a year. She enjoys interactive play and is house-trained.
  • Zee: This 2.5-year-old Tuxedo kitty weighs 11 pounds. Initially shy, she is affectionate once comfortable and enjoys playing and sunbathing.

Support and Volunteer Opportunities

Because Animals Matter is another organization in Southern Utah committed to reducing animal neglect and abuse. They offer foster care for animals in transition and welcome volunteers for various activities. Interested individuals can submit a BAM Adoption Application to adopt any of their pets.

  • Jodi: A four-year-old dog with a difficult past, Jodi requires a dedicated adopter experienced in rescue dog rehabilitation.
