Tesla Provides One Year of Free Supercharging with Electric Sedan Purchase

Tesla has introduced a new incentive to enhance the sales of its Model 3 sedan, amidst a downturn in deliveries. This offer includes up to one year of complimentary supercharging for customers in the United States who order and receive a new Model 3. Tesla’s communication emphasizes the benefits of switching to an electric vehicle, stating that buyers can “avoid rising gas prices and pay nothing to power your car for the next year.”

Details of the Supercharging Offer

The incentive specifically applies to the Model 3 Premium and Model 3 Performance variants. Customers activating Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities can also enjoy a more convenient driving experience. Tesla encourages users to let their Model 3 navigate to the nearest Supercharging station.

Performance in Australia

In Australia, Tesla has previously launched various promotional strategies to stimulate Model 3 sales. Earlier in 2026, the company introduced a $2,000 trade-in bonus for the Model 3, contributing to an increase in sales during the initial months of the year. In the first quarter of 2026, Tesla reported selling 1,363 Model 3 vehicles in Australia, compared to 2,046 during the same period in 2025.

Warranty and Charging Options

  • New purchases of Model 3 and Model Y cars come with a 5-year unlimited-km warranty, an upgrade from the previous 4-year or 80,000 km warranty.
  • Tesla’s Supercharger network in Australia offers competitive fast-charging rates, as low as $0.27/kWh during off-peak times.
  • There are currently over 150 Supercharger locations across Australia.

Despite the introduction of these incentives, the overall market trends indicate a stronger preference for SUV models. As competition intensifies, it will be crucial for Tesla to innovate further to maintain and grow its sales in the electric vehicle segment.
