Jessica Campbell Departs Kraken to Pursue New NHL Coaching Opportunities

Jessica Campbell, a notable figure in the NHL, is leaving the Seattle Kraken to pursue new coaching opportunities within the league. The decision comes as her contract with the team comes to an end.
Seattle Kraken Supports Campbell’s Departure
The Kraken organization announced Campbell’s departure on Thursday. General manager Jason Botterill expressed full support for her career aspirations. He stated, “As Jessica’s current contract expires, she has expressed her desire to explore other coaching roles across the league and we support her in this process.”
Botterill acknowledged Campbell’s significant contributions over the past four years, highlighting her coaching expertise and her ability to connect with players effectively.
A Historic Coaching Career
Jessica Campbell made history when she joined the Kraken in July 2022. She became the first full-time female assistant coach in NHL history to coach during a regular season.
Before her tenure with the Kraken, Campbell served as an assistant coach for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Kraken’s AHL affiliate. During her two years with the Firebirds, she played a key role in leading the team to the Calder Cup Final consecutively.
