Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine Depart Maverick City Music: ‘God’s Not Done’

Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine, prominent members of the Grammy-winning worship collective Maverick City Music, have announced their departures from the group. This decision was made public on October 6, with both artists sharing heartfelt statements via social media.

Chandler Moore’s Departure from Maverick City Music

In his post, Moore reflected on his journey over the past two years. He expressed gratitude for the community and fulfillment he gained through Maverick City Music. “These last two years I’ve been locked in on what really matters,” he wrote. He described the decision to leave as bittersweet, akin to saying goodbye to a child.

Moore emphasized that he remains committed to sharing his music and story. “I’m stepping into this next phase ready to share my story and make music that helps people feel a little more human,” he stated.

Naomi Raine’s Personal Journey

Naomi Raine also shared her emotional journey regarding her exit from Maverick City Music. “After a lot of prayer and consideration, I believe God has given me the green light to step into what He’s calling me to do individually,” she explained. Raine highlighted that her departure marks a new beginning rather than an endpoint.

She looks forward to continuing her music and ministry on her own. “Still writing. Still singing. Still worshiping and leading others in worship – just on my own,” Raine added.

Maverick City Music: A Legacy of Worship

Founded in 2018, Maverick City Music has made significant contributions to contemporary Christian music. The group has won five Grammy Awards and produced several chart-topping hits, including “Promises” and “Jireh.” Their albums, such as “Old Church Basement” and “The Maverick Way Complete: Complete Vol. 2,” reached the top positions on Billboard’s Christian and Gospel charts.

Individual Projects

  • Chandler Moore: Released “Feelings” in 2020 and “Chandler Moore: Live in Los Angeles” in 2022.
  • Naomi Raine: Released the two-part project “Back to Eden,” the album “The Journey,” and “Jesus Over Everything (Live in Las Vegas)” set for 2025.

Both Moore and Raine’s departures mark a new chapter in their artistic journeys. Despite leaving Maverick City Music, they remain dedicated to their music and ministry, illustrating that as Moore stated, “God’s not done yet.”
