Katherine Legge Joins Indy 500 Lineup as 33rd Driver

Katherine Legge is set to make her much-anticipated return to the Indianapolis 500 as the 33rd driver in this year’s lineup. Announced on Monday, both HMD Motorsports and AJ Foyt Racing have confirmed her entry, with Legge driving the No. 11 Chevrolet. This race will mark her fifth appearance in the iconic event.

Katherine Legge’s Career Overview

Legge last participated in the Indianapolis 500 in 2024, finishing 29th while racing for Dale Coyne Racing. Her highest finish in the event was 22nd place in her debut back in 2012 with Dragon Racing. As the only female driver in this year’s field, Legge aims to make a significant impact.

This year marks the third Indy 500 entry for HMD Motorsports, which is known for its four full-time drivers in Indy NXT. HMD has previously partnered with Dale Coyne Racing, where driver David Malukas competed with varying results, finishing 16th and 29th in two previous Indy 500s.
