Seattle’s Lifelong organization will honor actress Laverne Cox and influencer Chris Olsen during its inaugural Pride Gala. This significant event is scheduled for June 13 in downtown Seattle. Lifelong, founded in 1983, addresses various health needs, including HIV support, nutrition, and housing.

The Pride Gala Details
The inaugural Pride Gala promises a night of celebration and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Celebrity stylist Brad Goreski will host the event, which features performances from:

- Miz Cracker
- Macy Gray
Co-chairs of the event include Jean Smart and Bella Thorne, with additional names to be revealed soon.

Lifelong CEO James Shackelford emphasized the importance of the gala. He stated that the event highlights Seattle’s commitment to inclusivity and creativity while addressing future challenges. The gala aims to raise vital funds for programs supporting health, housing, and food services.
Honorees at the Gala
Laverne Cox, celebrated for her role as Sophia Burset on “Orange Is the New Black,” is a prominent LGBTQ+ activist. She made history by becoming the first transgender nominee for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2014. That same year, she also graced the cover of Time magazine. Cox’s upcoming memoir, “Transcendent,” is set for release on June 9.
Chris Olsen, a social media influencer, advocates for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health. His memoir, “I Think My Therapist Hates Me,” will debut on September 1.
Lifelong’s Impact
Lifelong is committed to making a difference in the community. Currently, the organization provides HIV services to 1,788 individuals. By 2026, they project to deliver over 250,000 meals and 25,000 grocery bags. Additionally, Lifelong supports more than 1,200 adults with disabilities and has placed 180 individuals in safe housing.
