Geneva Hosts World Mixed Doubles and Senior Championships

The upcoming ACE & Company World Mixed Doubles and Senior Championships 2026 will take center stage in Geneva, Switzerland. The event is scheduled from April 25 to May 2 at the Centre Sportif Sous-Moulin, which is home to the Curling Club Trois-Chêne. This marks the second occasion Geneva will host both championships, the last being in 2022.
World Mixed Doubles Championship Overview
The World Mixed Doubles Championship originated in Vierumaki, Finland, in 2008. This year, it gains a title sponsor, ACE & Company, a renowned private equity and venture capital group.
Competition Details
A total of 20 Member Associations will participate in the Mixed Doubles event. Qualifications were earned through results from the previous year’s championship in Fredericton, Canada, and the World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event held in Dumfries, Scotland, in January 2026. Teams are divided into two groups for the round-robin stage.
Qualified Teams
- Group A: Australia, China, Denmark, Estonia, France, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden
- Group B: Canada, Czechia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Korea, Scotland, Switzerland, United States
Some notable teams include the defending champions Italy, represented by Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner, along with veterans and newcomers from various countries.
Competition Format
Eighteen round-robin sessions will run from April 25 to April 30. The top three teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 1, with gold and bronze medal games concluding the championship on May 2.
World Senior Championships Overview
Alongside the Mixed Doubles event, the World Senior Curling Championships 2026 will feature 23 women’s teams and 34 men’s teams competing across multiple groups.
Men’s Competition Format
The men’s division includes six groups, allowing for a total of 19 round-robin sessions starting on April 24, concluding on April 30. The top 12 teams will progress to playoffs, with the quarter-finals set for May 1.
Women’s Competition Format
The women’s competition consists of four groups with a similar structure. A total of 15 round-robin sessions will run from April 25 to April 30, with the quarter-finals occurring on May 1.
