Road Closures Ahead of RAF Fairford Protest

On Saturday, April 25, a demonstration organized by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament will unfold, commencing at noon at Fairford High Street. Protesters will march towards the Royal Air Force base, which has been used to host American bomber jets.

Gloucestershire County Council has released a comprehensive list of roads that will be closed to ensure the safety and order of the event. These closures will be in effect from 11 AM to 5 PM. The following roads will experience rolling closures:

  • Mill Lane – closed between Coronation Street and High Street
  • High Street – closed between Mill Lane and Market Place
  • Market Place – closed between High Street and Bridge Street
  • Bridge Street – closed between Market Place and Milton Street
  • Milton Street – closed between Bridge Street and Horcott Road
  • Horcott Road – closed between Milton Street and Whelford Road
  • Whelford Road – closed between London Road and the road south-west of Bowmoor House
  • A417 London Street – closed from High Street to London Road
  • A417 London Road – closed from London Street to Whelford Road
