Michael Dunlop Calls Ducati Superbike a ‘Different Beast’ for Isle of Man TT

Michael Dunlop has recently described Ducati’s new Superbike as a “different beast,” gearing up for the upcoming Isle of Man TT. He will also race a V2 motorcycle this season with the Scars Racing team and his own MD Racing outfit in the Supersport category. Dunlop plans to continue his collaboration with Hawk Racing, managing the V4 model.
Dunlop’s Recent Achievements
Last year, Dunlop marked a significant comeback in racing by securing three victories at the North West 200. This event spans 8.9 miles along closed public roads on Northern Ireland’s picturesque north coast. Following his success at the North West 200, he clinched four wins at the prestigious Isle of Man TT, raising his total number of race victories to 33.
Looking Ahead to the Season
Dunlop expresses enthusiasm for the upcoming season but acknowledges the need for extensive testing to fine-tune his new Superbike. He stated, “Last year was good at the North West with three wins, and it could have been more. I’m excited to get this project going, but we could have done with a lot more testing.”
Preparation for the North West 200
He emphasized the necessity for extra testing time to adjust the bike for optimal performance. “I think it is going to be hotter and heavier this year than it ever was,” he noted, indicating challenges ahead.
