Raptors’ Quickley Sidelined with Hamstring Injury for Game 2 vs. Cavs

The Toronto Raptors are facing a significant challenge as guard Immanuel Quickley will miss Game 2 of the playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Quickley is sidelined with a right hamstring strain and will not participate in Monday night’s matchup.

Quickley’s Injury Update

Head coach Darko Rajakovic reported that Quickley had a workout session and is ‘progressing.’ However, he has been ruled out ahead of the game, which may indicate that he is not close to returning.

Game 1 Performance and Impact

In Quickley’s absence during Game 1, Jamal Shead stepped up to start and contributed 17 points. Despite this effort, the Raptors fell short, losing to the Cavaliers 126-113. Rajakovic emphasized the importance of Quickley’s role, stating, “We missed Quickley big time with the way he gets us organized and his shooting helps our team out.”

Regular Season Highlights

This season, Quickley had an impressive performance, averaging 16.4 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.0 rebounds over 70 games. His contributions have been substantial since joining the Raptors from the New York Knicks in December 2023.

Looking Ahead

After Game 2, the playoff series will continue as it shifts to Toronto for Game 3 on Thursday. The Raptors are optimistic about Quickley’s recovery and potential return to the lineup as the series progresses.
