Lavrov’s Shocking Russia-Ukraine Disclosure at Antalya Forum: Zelensky’s Sacrifice

At the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made revealing comments regarding the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. He addressed the current state of negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, indicating a lack of urgency from the Russian side.

Negotiation Stalemate

Lavrov emphasized that resuming negotiations is not a priority for Russia. He criticized Ukraine’s negotiation history, declaring it “a poor track record.” His remarks reflect growing frustrations with Ukraine’s response to previous proposals.

Proposals Put Forward by Russia

Since the last meeting in January, Russia has made specific proposals to advance discussions. These include:

  • Raising the level of negotiating delegations.
  • Establishing three groups focused on humanitarian, military, and political issues.

Critique of Ukrainian Stance

Lavrov noted that despite these proposals, Ukraine waited until November to express disinterest. He stated that Ukraine’s public stance often suggests readiness for dialogue, yet their actions tell a different story.

He quoted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statements, which, according to Lavrov, include personal insults rather than constructive content. Lavrov highlighted Zelensky’s insistence that Ukraine will not concede any territory that has become part of Russia following popular support in those areas.

As the conflict continues, Lavrov’s comments underscore a deepening division between Russia and Ukraine, complicating the path toward peaceful negotiations.
