Marie-Philip Poulin Returns to Skating

Marie-Philip Poulin has returned to skating, practicing at the CN Complex in Brossard on Wednesday prior to a Montreal Victory training session. This marked her first time on the ice in front of media since being placed on the long-term injured list on March 24.
Injury Updates and Future Matches
Poulin, known as “Pou,” rejoined her teammates as they prepare for a crucial matchup against the Boston Fleet on Friday. However, head coach Kori Cheverie did not confirm Poulin’s participation in the game at Place Bell in Laval.
Another player, Maureen Murphy, who has an upper body injury, practiced alongside Poulin but remains uncertain for the upcoming game. Murphy’s last appearance dates back to April 19.
Recent Performance and Team Success
Poulin last played on February 9 during the Olympic Games in Italy, where she suffered a knee injury against the Czech Republic. Following her recovery, she participated in the quarter-finals but missed the first LPHF match on February 26 due to the injury.
Upon her return, Poulin played two more games before suffering another injury on March 15 against the Fleet, affecting her right leg.
Team Highlights
Despite Poulin’s absence, the Montreal Victory achieved remarkable success, recording seven wins in eight matches. Their only loss came in overtime. This strong performance was bolstered by exceptional goaltending from Ann-Renée Desbiens, who was named player of the week in the LPHF, and the contributions of Laura Stacey.
Currently, the Montreal Victory is in first place, leading Boston by four points. The team will conclude their season with matches in the West, first in Vancouver on Tuesday, followed by a game in Seattle on April 25.
