A new mysterious figure has emerged at Efteling’s Danse Macabre area. Visitors can now encounter the enigmatic character known as the Cat Chaser. This character is part of the entertainment act, De Huyveraars, which has been introducing unique figures to the park this year.

The Cat Chaser was officially introduced on the recent date of April 14. He joins the previously revealed characters, including unsettling monks and a figure named Wammes, who appeared in May. The Cat Chaser is portrayed as a stilt-walker with a rugged appearance, adding a sense of mystery to the park.

  • Costume: Worn brown coat with frayed sleeves and an old hat.
  • Face: Pale, partly covered by a cracked skull mask.
  • Hair: Long reddish-brown hair peeking from beneath the hat.
  • Accessories: Carries a wooden staff adorned with macabre items, including a skull.
  • Hands: Features gloves resembling bony fingers, enhancing his eerie presence.
  • Medallion: A leather band with a medallion reads “Fortuna Nobiscum Est,” symbolizing the idea that luck is on our side.

The Cat Chaser’s character ties into the overarching theme of Danse Macabre, which deals with the concept of evil, sometimes disguised as a cute black kitten. The character’s name suggests he possesses the ability to dispel such malevolence.
