The movie demonstrated remarkable resilience in its second weekend, with a 22% drop in international earnings. It generated $21.7 million across 77 overseas markets, bringing its international total to $58.9 million and surpassing the $100 million mark globally, hitting $101.7 million by Sunday.

Latin America and Upcoming Releases

The film recorded a modest drop of 23% in Latin American markets. It has become Anderson’s most successful title in 13 markets within the region. Additionally, the film has grossed $5.4 million in IMAX screenings internationally. China’s release is scheduled for October 17, marking the final major market opening for the film.

Taylor Swift’s Film Debut

On a related note, “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” is projected to earn $13 million this weekend across 54 international markets. This “event non-film” is showing exclusively this weekend, distributed by AMC Theatres in partnership with Variance Films in North America and Piece of Magic Entertainment worldwide. The expected global box office for this event is around $46 million.

Other Noteworthy Releases

In other updates, “The Conjuring: Last Rites” added an estimated $9.3 million this weekend across 76 markets, raising its international total to $290.4 million and global total to $458.2 million.

Moreover, the re-release of “Avatar: The Way of Water” took in $6.8 million overseas, bringing its global total to $10 million. This film has become the second highest-grossing film of all time in Australia, just behind the original “Avatar.” In New Zealand, it also made history by being the first film to surpass NZ$ 20 million.
