Tour Bus Plunge in La Gomera: 1 Dead, 14 Injured, Several Critically

A tragic incident occurred on the GM-2 road in La Gomera, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to 14 others. The accident took place at approximately 1:15 PM near San Sebastián, specifically at kilometer 4.5. The bus was en route to the island’s waste disposal facility.

Details of the Tour Bus Plunge

The tour bus carried 27 passengers and one driver, who managed to escape without serious injury. The vehicle was operated by Gomera Tours, traveling from Playa de Santiago in Alajeró to San Sebastián, where the passengers planned to board a ferry to Tenerife.

A Recurring Tragedy

This unfortunate event marks the second serious bus accident in La Gomera within a year. In a similar incident last May, one tourist lost their life and 20 others sustained injuries when a public transport bus veered off the same road.

These repeated accidents highlight ongoing safety concerns on the GM-2 route. Further investigations will aim to identify the underlying causes and implement measures to prevent future tragedies.
