On September 9, 2023, BNK Gyeongnam Bank organized the “2026 BNK Gyeongnam Bank Cup Senior Gateball Tournament” at the auxiliary stadium of the Changwon Sports Complex. This event was held in cooperation with the Gyeongsangnam-do Federation of the Korea Senior Citizens Association.
Celebrating 17 Years of the Tournament
This year marks the 17th iteration of the tournament, which first began in 2009. It has become an annual highlight for seniors in the Gyeongnam region, serving as a platform for competition and social interaction.
Record Participation and Atmosphere
This tournament featured an impressive turnout, with around 500 participants, including players over the age of 65 from 18 cities and counties across Gyeongsangnam-do. Cheering squads also added to the vibrant atmosphere.
Despite concerns that morning rain might affect the event, the determination of the 40 competing teams was evident. Players remained focused and passionate about their participation.
