Rail Network Expands: Additional Trains Boost Timetables

Southeastern’s metro services are set to undergo significant improvements starting in December. This expansion aims to enhance connectivity and convenience for passengers.
Expanded Rail Network Timetable
The revised metro schedule includes more frequent train services across various routes. Notably, trains will operate on a “turn up and go” basis, facilitating easier travel for riders.
New Train Frequencies
- Metro services will run every 15 minutes from Monday to Saturday on all routes, except the Bromley North line.
- An hourly service connecting Maidstone East to London Charing Cross will be available on Sundays.
- The Sheerness branch will see an increase to two trains per hour, operating daily throughout the week.
Enhancements Based on Passenger Feedback
Scott Brightwell, the safety, planning, and performance director at Southeastern, emphasized the company’s commitment to passenger needs. He stated, “We continually listen to our customers and monitor travel patterns to adjust and improve our timetable every May and December.”
Customers can expect the addition of more services and increased capacity where necessary. Southeastern also aims for more consistent departure times across its network.
Passenger Advisory
Travelers are encouraged to check updated timetables to find specific timings for the new services, as some regular train schedules have been amended to enhance overall performance. This initiative reflects Southeastern’s ongoing efforts to improve travel experiences and meet the needs of its passengers effectively.
