Sharjeel Khan Reveals 28kg Weight Loss During Two-Year PSL Hiatus

Sharjeel Khan, a batter for the Hyderabad Kingsmen, has made headlines by revealing his impressive 28-kilogram weight loss during a two-year hiatus from the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This transformation stems from a dedicated effort to enhance his fitness and overall cricketing skills.

Fitness Journey and Weight Loss

In a recent interview, Sharjeel shared how the extended break from the PSL posed challenges that ultimately benefited his game. He recognized the physical demands of professional cricket, which motivated him to make significant changes to his lifestyle. He stated, “It is not easy to perform immediately after a long gap, but I prepared myself fully to make this comeback successful.”

Working alongside a professional trainer and a dietitian, Sharjeel emphasized the importance of fitness in his career. “I focused on my fitness for two years and lost 28 kilograms. This process not only helped me reduce weight but also taught me how to adopt a better lifestyle,” he remarked.

Maintaining Competitive Edge

Throughout his time away from the PSL, Sharjeel did not step away from the cricket field entirely. He continued to participate in domestic leagues to maintain his competitive readiness. His commitment to fitness allowed him to stay prepared for his return to professional play.

Hyderabad Kingsmen: A New Team

  • Sharjeel described the Hyderabad Kingsmen as a fresh team still learning to work together.
  • He expressed optimism that the squad would improve during the Karachi leg of the tournament.
  • “We just need one win and our momentum will change,” he stated, highlighting the potential for growth.

Team Dynamics and Personal Goals

Sharjeel noted the positive atmosphere in the dressing room, attributing it partly to the foreign players who have contributed to team cohesion. He expressed his readiness to fill a middle-order batting position based on team requirements, having begun his preparations well in advance.

  • “As soon as the squad was finalized, I started practicing for the middle overs about a month and a half earlier,” he mentioned.

His personal goal for the PSL season is clear. Sharjeel aims to help the Hyderabad Kingsmen secure victories in at least three to four matches. He has already shown promise in the ongoing season, scoring 51 runs off 26 balls in his first match.

International Experience

In addition to his franchise cricket experience, Sharjeel has a solid background in international play, having represented Pakistan in 25 ODIs and 21 T20Is. His focus now remains on delivering match-winning performances for the Hyderabad Kingsmen in PSL 11.
