Blue Jays Choose LHP Josh Fleming, Designate Austin Voth for Assignment

In a recent roster move, the Toronto Blue Jays have selected left-handed pitcher Josh Fleming for their major league roster. He is set to be active for the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This decision follows the designation for assignment of right-hander Austin Voth.

Josh Fleming Joins the Blue Jays

Josh Fleming’s selection comes after a solid performance in Triple-A Buffalo, where he made one appearance. During that outing, he allowed one run on three hits, while striking out three batters over 3.2 innings.

Fleming joined the Blue Jays this off-season after previously serving as a reliever in Triple-A for the Seattle Mariners. In 2025, he posted a 4.91 ERA across 84.1 innings, striking out 44 batters.

Austin Voth Designated for Assignment

In a corresponding move, Austin Voth has been designated for assignment. Voth pitched 2.2 innings in relief against the Chicago White Sox, giving up one run and allowing a walk on three hits, with one strikeout recorded.

The 33-year-old right-hander last played in the major leagues in 2024 for the Seattle Mariners. He spent the 2025 season playing in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.

Potential Move for Tyler Fitzgerald

Reports indicate that infielder Tyler Fitzgerald was spotted in the Blue Jays’ clubhouse. However, the team has not confirmed a roster move to add him at this time.

  • Player added: Josh Fleming
  • Opponent: Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Austin Voth status: Designated for assignment
  • Fleming’s Triple-A stats: 1 appearance, 1 run, 3 hits, 3 strikeouts
  • Voth’s last MLB appearance: 2024
