Quebec Weather: Sunshine and Seasonal Normals Return This Week

After a colder-than-average March, a shift to spring temperatures is expected across Quebec this week. The forecast indicates little precipitation and a return to seasonal norms.

Weather Forecast for Quebec This Week

While some precipitation is anticipated through Monday morning, particularly in the greater Quebec City and Montreal areas, the overall outlook improves. According to Environment Canada, residents should be patient as conditions stabilize.

Meteorologist Dominic Morin noted, “It has been a long winter, but starting this week, we will truly reach seasonal temperatures, and they should remain consistent.”

Temperature Expectations

  • Thursday will likely be the warmest day, with temperatures hitting 15 degrees Celsius in the Montreal area.
  • Quebec City and its surroundings can expect temperatures around 12 degrees Celsius.
  • Little cloud cover is predicted, allowing for plenty of sunshine.

Nonetheless, Montreal’s metropolitan area may face minor inconveniences. A light snowfall of 2 to 4 centimeters is expected on Tuesday morning, coinciding with peak commuting hours, while temperatures will be around 1 degree Celsius.

Calmer Days Ahead

After Tuesday, a more tranquil week lies ahead, with temperatures projected to rise above seasonal averages. Morin stated, “We will have a relatively calm week after Tuesday morning, bringing some warmer weather which will be refreshing.”

Future Precipitation Predictions

Looking ahead, rain may return late Friday evening, with a 60% chance of precipitation. However, meteorologists do not foresee significant rainfall amounts.

Morin concluded, “We do not anticipate heavy downpours, just light rain that may occur Friday afternoon or early evening.”
