Robert MacIntyre Shines Under Harsh Conditions to Share Alfred Dunhill Lead

Robert MacIntyre, currently ranked ninth in the world, showcased remarkable skill during challenging weather conditions at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Starting his round on the 10th tee, he achieved birdies on the 11th, 12th, and 14th holes. After turning, he continued his strong performance, marred only by a single blemish on the second hole amidst a streak of three birdies in five holes.

MacIntyre’s Remarkable Performance

The 29-year-old Scotsman expressed his delight with his round, despite the adverse conditions. “It was almost a perfect round of golf, especially once the weather came in,” MacIntyre noted. He acknowledged the difficulties posed by the wind, stating, “It’s hard to hit the ball good with the wind. I had to fight the wind on certain holes.” Nonetheless, he delivered several impressive shots throughout his round.

Nathan Kimsey Sets Record

In addition to MacIntyre’s achievements, England’s Nathan Kimsey made history at the Old Course. He recorded nine consecutive birdies, becoming only the third player ever to achieve this in the DP World Tour. Previously, Matt Wallace and Australian James Nitties accomplished this feat in 2021 and 2019, respectively.
