Saxdor 460 GTC: 14-Meter Yacht with Fully Openable Deckhouse

Saxdor Yachts has unveiled the Saxdor 460 GTC, a groundbreaking 14-meter yacht showcased at the Boot Düsseldorf 2026. This model marks a significant milestone for the Finnish shipyard as it enters the competitive 45-50 foot segment. The 460 GTC is the largest vessel produced by Saxdor to date and represents an evolution from the popular Saxdor 400 series.
Innovative Open-Closed Concept
The Saxdor 460 GTC features a unique “open-closed” design. This configuration allows for a rapid transformation of the helm area and main deck from a fully enclosed space to an entirely open environment. Sliding glass panels, a retractable hardtop, and foldable side terraces harmoniously create a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The main salon can easily connect with the surrounding ocean, offering an expansive atmosphere.
Interior Layout and Features
Inside, the upper deck offers a classic layout that includes a salon with a dining area and kitchen. The helm, located at the bow, features a low-profile dashboard capable of integrating up to three 16-inch Simrad displays. Ergonomically designed controls ensure both visibility and comfort for the captain.
Intelligent design solutions enhance usability, such as double-opening side doors and a retractable upper section on the main entrance, fostering fluid connections between spaces. The side openings, among the largest for vessels of this size, enhance the enjoyment of the sea breeze. Optional hammocks can be installed on the terraces for added relaxation.
Versatile Cockpit and Outdoor Areas
The aft cockpit is adaptable, allowing for configuration with either sofas and a table or a spacious sunbathing area. Additional features like a barbecue, multifunctional boarding platform, and a secondary command station for docking maneuvers are also available.
Accommodations and Design
The standard lower deck layout includes two cabins, with the master cabin at the bow offering an en suite bathroom and shower. The second cabin at the stern is slightly lower due to external deck structures. Ample natural light floods in through portholes and skylights, complemented by light-colored furnishings with sleek lines.
Performance and Engine Options
The Saxdor 460 GTC is powered by three outboard engines, available in various configurations ranging from a total of 900 to 1275 horsepower, all provided by Mercury Marine. The base configuration includes three V8 engines with 300 horsepower each, while an intermediate option features three V10 engines with 350 horsepower. The maximum configuration utilizes three V10 engines with 425 horsepower, achieving a top speed of 50 knots.
Notably, the powerful engine versions integrate the Fathom e-Power system developed by the Navico Group. This system utilizes lithium-ion batteries, allowing the engines to function as generators. This setup ensures continuous onboard power supply without the downsides of traditional generators, which contribute to noise, vibrations, and emissions.
