Raptors Challenge Mounties to Exciting Skate-Off Event

The Tumbler Ridge Raptors recently showcased their skills during a spirited skate-off event, preparing for the final votes for the 20th annual Kraft Hockeyville competition. This thrilling activity took place on March 27, 2026, in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia.

Skate-Off Event Details

The event featured young players from the Tumbler Ridge Minor Hockey Association, ranging in age from seven to 17, alongside local RCMP officers. Staff Sergeant Ed DeJong participated in the skate-off, bringing enthusiasm to the ice.

Speed Competition

During the skate-off, the Tumbler Ridge RCMP used a ProLASER device to measure the skaters’ speeds. The highlight of the day was Raptor player #11, who achieved an impressive top speed of 34 km/hr.

Community Engagement

Upcoming Community Events

Tumbler Ridge has planned a Zamboni Parade on April 3, 2026, which will be escorted by local RCMP officers through the community. Following this festive event, a community barbecue is scheduled for April 4, 2026, at the Tumbler Ridge Community Center.
