Montana

In Montana, snow is forecasted from Thursday through midday Friday. The Little Belt and Highwood Mountains may receive between 7 to 11 inches. Travel conditions are expected to be challenging, particularly in backcountry areas, where tire chains may be necessary.

California

California’s mountain regions are also bracing for heavy snow. The San Joaquin Valley and Yosemite National Park may receive up to 6 inches, while higher elevations could see up to 12 inches. Winds could gust up to 70 mph in certain areas.

Colorado

In Colorado, the San Juan Mountains will likely see up to 12 inches of snow, combined with wind gusts of 45 mph. The predicted snowstorm will persist through Wednesday evening.

Utah

Utah’s northern mountains, particularly the Wasatch Range, are forecasted to see up to 14 inches of snow by Wednesday noon. Travel conditions in mountainous regions are expected to be challenging.

Washington

In Washington, areas above 5,500 feet in the southern Cascades could receive 12 to 20 inches of snow. Wind gusts may reach 40 mph, contributing to hazardous conditions.

South Dakota

South Dakota expects up to 5 inches of snow and winds reaching 35 mph, particularly in central and north-central regions. Blowing snow may impair visibility.

Other States

States like Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wyoming are also likely to experience snowfall. Minnesota’s west-central areas may receive 3 to 5 inches, while North Dakota expects similar amounts in the James River Valley. Wyoming’s Sierra Madre and Snowy Ranges could see up to 12 inches.

Maine

Finally, Aroostook County in Maine could see up to 7 inches of snow, impacting travel conditions throughout the region.
