Basha High School’s varsity Rocket League team achieved a dominant victory over Willow Canyon High School on March 26. The match, held at Basha High School, concluded with a decisive 3-0 win for Basha, who outscored their opponents 14-2 across the three games.
Basha’s Impressive Season Performance
This win improved Basha’s overall record to 9-1, with their only loss coming against the current state champions, Valley Christian High School. With just two games remaining in the regular season, the team is ramping up their efforts in preparation for the upcoming playoffs.

In this match, every player made significant contributions. Tomas Hanko stood out, scoring eight goals, while Jorge Coracides led the team with eight assists. Freshman Walker Horn also had a noteworthy performance, netting three goals and three assists, alongside 16 shots, as recorded by PlayVs.

The playoffs are approaching in early April, and Basha’s Rocket League team is intensifying their training to ensure a lengthy postseason run. There is a strong belief within the team that they can compete against top contenders, including a potential rematch with Valley Christian High School.
“If we can keep up with the reigning national champs, I think we’ll be okay to go pretty far in the playoffs,” coach Sehl remarked confidently.
Recognizing their abilities, player Walker Horn conveyed that the team feels ready for the challenges ahead. “Our only real matchup is Valley Christian. We should fare well in the playoffs,” he stated.
