The York Regional Police responded to a community center in Markham on March 14 after receiving a report of an assault. The victim, Warren Cooper, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Reports suggest the altercation involved coaches following a playoff game in the under-15 category, featuring the Markham Waxers and the York-Simcoe Express.
