The Toronto Fire Service received reports of the blaze near Madonna Gardens and Anthia Drive around 4 a.m. Fire Chief Jim Jessop provided updates at a news conference on the scene. He confirmed that firefighters found the two occupants inside the home and attempted life-saving measures before paramedics transported them to a local hospital.

Unfortunately, both individuals were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Family members have been notified and are currently at the hospital.
