Two-time Olympian Jocelyn Peterman is set to join Kerri Einarson’s revamped team for the upcoming 2026–2027 curling season. The announcement was made by the Gimli, Manitoba club, highlighting a significant roster change.

This season, Peterman will take on the dual role of lead and vice skip. Shannon Birchard will transition to third position, while Karlee Burgess, the former lead, will now throw second stones.

Einarson expressed her excitement about Peterman’s addition: “We’re thrilled to welcome Jocelyn to the team. She’s an incredible player with a ton of experience.”

Residing in Chestermere, Alberta, Peterman made her mark as a junior skip. Throughout her women’s career, she has predominantly played as a second.

During her time with Kaitlyn Lawes’s team, Peterman was replaced by Laura Walker in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. The team finished as runners-up to Team Einarson in Mississauga, Ontario.

Einarson’s Recent Achievements

Kerri Einarson claimed her fifth Scotties title in February and earned a silver medal at the World Women’s Curling Championship in Calgary just over a week ago.

Recent team changes include Einarson separating from her longtime third Val Sweeting, alternate Krysten Karwacki, and coach Reid Carruthers.

Looking Ahead

Peterman and Burgess will have the opportunity to compete together early in the season as they team up on Maple United in the inaugural Rock League. This event will take place from April 6-12 at the TMU Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto. Einarson is also set to compete with Shield Curling Club during the series.

Peterman expressed her enthusiasm about joining Einarson’s team: “I can’t wait to get on the ice, learn from each other, and see what we can build together.”
