Bug Fixes in FritzOS 8.24 Beta

The beta update addresses several critical issues. Notably, it fixes a problem that reduced upload performance under specific WLAN conditions. Users can expect to regain their standard bandwidth following this update.

Models Receiving the Update

The beta version is available for the following FritzBox models:

  • FritzBox 5690
  • FritzBox 7690
  • FritzBox 7590 AX
  • FritzBox 7590
  • FritzBox 7530 AX
  • FritzBox 7530
  • FritzBox 4690
  • FritzBox 4060
  • FritzBox 4050

These models include both current fiber routers and established DSL variants. Earlier, the cable versions received similar laboratory updates.

Enhanced Features and System Stability

In addition to WLAN improvements, the beta update also rectifies an error in the online monitor. This error incorrectly reported an inactive connection status while users were online. The mobile data counter has also been adjusted to provide accurate consumption readings after installation.

Fritz emphasizes the importance of system stability as part of this beta release. The company is preparing the routers for the final version of FritzOS 8.24, which includes several overall enhancements.

How to Download and Install

The beta version can be downloaded from the laboratory website or installed directly through the router interface at fritz.box. Users should be wary that, as with any beta firmware, unforeseen issues may arise. Fritz recommends creating a backup of current settings before proceeding with the update.
