Warriors’ Curry sidelined at least another week due to knee injury

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will be sidelined for at least another week due to a knee injury. His condition will be re-evaluated next week as he aims to return to the court.
Details of Curry’s Injury
Curry has been dealing with patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his right knee. His last appearance on the court was on January 30. As a result of missing additional time, Curry will have missed a total of 25 consecutive games.
Performance Before Injury
Before his injury, Curry was performing at an impressive level, averaging:
- 27.2 points per game
- 3.5 rebounds per game
- 4.8 assists per game
- 1.1 steals per game
This was through 39 games in the 2025-2026 season.
Impacts on the Warriors
Along with Curry, the Warriors are managing multiple significant injuries. Jimmy Butler III has been ruled out for the season due to a torn right ACL. Additionally, Moses Moody suffered a season-ending knee injury during a recent victory against the Dallas Mavericks.
Other Player Injuries
Other injury updates include:
- Seth Curry is sidelined with a strained left inner thigh but has resumed scrimmaging and is day-to-day.
- Center Quinten Post is also day-to-day due to right foot soreness.
- Al Horford will sit out his eighth straight game because of a strained muscle in his right calf but is undergoing on-court workouts.
Warriors’ Playoff Position
The Warriors enter Friday’s matchup against the Washington Wizards positioned 10th in the Western Conference with a 35-38 record. They have already secured a spot in the NBA’s Play-In Tournament, as the 11th-placed New Orleans Pelicans have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Coach’s Comments
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr emphasized the importance of playoff opportunities, stating, “We’re not chasing a play-in berth. We are squarely in the play-in no matter what we do. Bottom line, if Steph is healthy, he’s going to play because that’s what we’re here for.”
