A Legacy of ‘The X-Files’

This reboot marks a fresh start for “The X-Files.” The original series aired for nine seasons before concluding in 2001. It saw two revivals in 2016 and 2018, featuring original stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

Since then, there have been two feature films released in 1998 and 2008. Currently, neither Anderson nor Duchovny has been confirmed to participate in Coogler’s upcoming pilot.

Ryan Coogler’s commitment to a diverse casting approach was initially announced in 2023 by Chris Carter, the original creator of “The X-Files.” This marks an exciting chapter for fans as the series makes its first official reboot.
