Ryan Winterton Takes Leave from Seattle Kraken

Ryan Winterton has taken a leave from the Seattle Kraken to attend to a family matter. The organization has stated that no additional details will be disclosed regarding his absence.
Ryan Winterton’s Performance This Season
At just 22 years old, Winterton has made significant strides this season. He has participated in a career-high 62 games, achieving personal bests with four goals and 14 assists. Over the previous two seasons, Winterton played a total of 19 games for the Kraken.
Contract Extension
Recently, the Seattle Kraken announced a two-year contract extension for Winterton. General manager Jason Botterill praised his development as a player. “He’s been able to carve out a role on this team with his speed and strong two-way game,” he commented. The team is optimistic to have Winterton secured through the 2027-28 season.
Seattle Kraken’s Position in the League
As of now, the Kraken are in pursuit of a wild-card spot in the Western Conference. They trail the Nashville Predators by four points, with only 13 games left in the season. However, the Kraken hold one game in hand over Nashville, offering them a strategic advantage in the playoff race.
