Tanvi Sharma’s Semi-Final Match

Tanvi Sharma, ranked 38th in women’s singles badminton, faced Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara, a world No. 20 and Olympic bronze medallist. The match ended with Sharma losing in straight sets, 21-9, 21-16, within 35 minutes.

Sharma struggled in the first game, trailing 11-6 at the interval and unable to recover. The second game was more competitive, with both players tied at 12-all. However, Okuhara accelerated her performance, securing the game and advancing to the finals.

However, Opatniputh rallied, taking a 13-10 lead before Baruah fought back, even saving a match point. Despite her efforts, Baruah ultimately lost in a tightly contested second game.
