Nine Inch Nails’ ‘Future Ruins’ Film-Music Festival Canceled

The Future Ruins film-music festival, organized by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, has been canceled. Originally set for November 8, the festival faced several logistical issues that organizers deemed insurmountable.

Organizer’s Statement

In an official announcement, the organizers stated, “Unfortunately Future Ruins will not move forward this year.” They expressed regret over the cancellation and emphasized their commitment to delivering a quality experience. The decision to cancel was made to avoid a compromised event.

Event Details

The festival was scheduled to take place at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. It was designed as a unique platform for innovative composers to showcase their film work live. The event was to feature prominent talents in the industry, including:

  • John Carpenter
  • Questlove
  • Danny Elfman
  • Mark Mothersbaugh
  • Hildur Guðnadóttir

Impact of the Cancellation

The cancellation follows the successful “Peel It Back” tour by Nine Inch Nails, which recently concluded its leg in Southern California. Looking ahead, the band is scheduled to return to the area in March next year.

Future Performances

In addition to their planned return, Nine Inch Nails will perform a special club-focused set as Nine Inch Noize alongside collaborator Boys Noize at Coachella next year. This highlights the band’s ongoing commitment to their music and fans despite the setback of the Future Ruins festival.
